Transcribed passages from Da Vinci Code appear in red below. And corresponding passages from Rock Prophecy follow in blue.

And both books report powerful opposition intent on suppressing evidence:

DC 2003: …this was a secret the Vatican had tried to bury in the fourth century. That's part of what the Crusades were about. Gathering and destroying information…

RP 1999: Because of the Spanish invasion, our understanding of what the Mayan calendar communicates was nearly lost…religious fanaticism of the conquering Spaniards…destroyed the books of the Maya…their records and their history were destroyed.

Both books are about a battle to rewrite precious insights that are on the verge of disappearing:

DC 2003: …if the Sangreal documents remain hidden, the story of Mary Magdalene will be lost forever…with the Sangreal documents gone, all evidence will be lost. The Church will have won their age-old war to rewrite history. The past will be erased forever.

RP 1999: In the absence of this book, what he communicates remains unknown. Without Rock Prophecy no one will see the meaning of what happened…we would have seen NO media overexposure of asteroid stories had not the Hendrix connection with this issue been seen…To claim otherwise is to subscribe to the dominators' version of history - a revisionist re-write.

Both books agree that dominators have put their spin on history:

DC 2003: …history is always written by the winners. When two cultures clash, the loser is obliterated, and the winner writes the history books - books which glorify their own cause, and disparage the conquered foe…

RP 1999: It is the winners who write history - their way…The old perspective of "winners" seeking to advance their own spin on history had delayed for decades circulation of the recovered gospels.

Both books analyze Christian attitudes towards nature religions:

DC 2003: The term pagan had become almost synonymous with devil worship, a gross misconception, the word's roots actually reach back to the Latin paganus, meaning country dwellers. "Pagans" were literally unindoctrinated country folk who clung to the old rural religions of Nature worship.

RP 1999: What does the pagan represent? He was a person from the suburbs of Eden, he was regarded as a nature man and on the head of his lance was written the word 'Grail' - that is to say, nature intends the Grail - spiritual life is the bouquet of natural life, not a supernatural thing imposed upon it. And so, the impulses of nature are what give authenticity to life, not obeying rules coming from a supernatural authority. That is the sense of the Grail.

Da Vinci Code explains how the meaning of the Holy Grail was preserved in metaphors:

DC 2003: The royal bloodline of Jesus Christ is the source of the most enduring legend of all time - the Holy Grail. Magdalene's story has been shouted from the rooftops for centuries in all kinds of metaphors and languages. Her story is everywhere once you open your eyes…Her story is being told in art, music, and books.

Rock Prophecy explains how the meaning of Jimi Hendrix writings is found in metaphors:

RP 1999: If he spoke out he'd invite trouble. He instead spread his message indirectly in song lyrics and metaphors…he imbedded its image in his songs, couched in lyrics that no one understood, until now. He referred to the Prophecy indirectly…written entirely around incidents of coincidence. Once one becomes aware of this issue, you'll see it everywhere.

In Da Vinci Code the keepers of the Grail are persecuted by a powerful pope:

DC 2003: …the Pope devised an ingeniously planned sting operation to quash the Templars and seize their treasure, thus taking control of the secrets held over the Vatican. In a military maneuver worthy of the CIA, Pope Clement issued secret sealed orders to be opened simultaneously by his soldiers all across Europe…

In Rock Prophecy, the keepers of the Prophecy are persecuted by a powerful dope:

RP 1999: My writings, registered and stored at the Library of Congress, are being monitored by interested parties. Did representatives from Paul Allen's Hendrix museum or legal team see Rock Prophecy at the LOC…five months after the manuscript arrived there for copyright, the media began churning out dramatic asteroid stories…And with Paul Allen's involvement with the Hendrix lawsuit, why wouldn't his legal team monitor my stories…I was the writer for the Hollywood company that was being sued.

Both books consider the fate of ancient goddess religions that were banned by Christianity:

DC 2003: The Grail…is symbolic of the lost goddess. When Christianity came along, the old pagan religions did not die easily.

RP 1999: Male myths about the sword and death replaced legends about fertility and the goddess. Particularly, the Hebrews really wipe out the goddess…the Minoan civilization is one where the goddess tradition survived intact the longest…

DC 2003: The propaganda and bloodshed had worked. Today's world was living proof. Women, once celebrated as an essential half of spiritual enlightenment, had been banished from the temples of the world. There were no female Orthodox rabbis, Catholic priests, nor Islamic clerics.

RP 1999: …the God of Israel shared his power with no female divinity, nor was he the divine Husband or Lover of any. He can scarcely be characterized in any but masculine epithets: king, lord, master, judge, and father. Indeed, the absence of feminine symbolism for God marks Judaism, Christianity, and Islam…"The Western ideal is the only formulation of deity that has no relationship with women at any point in the theological myth…Only the god of Western civilization has no mother, no sister, no female consort, and no daughter," observes McKenna…Tannahill describes the disaster: "Mans view of himself as superior in all ways to woman was soon enshrined in the law and custom of the world's earliest civilizations, those of the Near East. Woman became a chattel first of her father, then of her husband, then of her son...it was the monotheistic strand of Near Eastern culture that won in the end, that of the Hebrews…the attitudes born of the Neolithic era were preserved, and when the Christian Church, solidly based on Hebrew foundations, took over the Western world as successor to Rome, social and sexual relationships became fossilized in the amber of ancient Hebrew custom. To Near Eastern prejudices, the Church Fathers added their own."

Both books are about efforts to re-connect with, and restore, aspects of our nature that have been hidden and banned:

DC 2003: Legends of chivalric quests for the lost Grail were in fact stories of forbidden quests to find the lost sacred feminine.

RP 1999: The history of America is (as much as anything), the history of the American body as it sought to unite with its spirit, with its consciousness, to heal itself and to stand against the enormous forces that work to destroy our relationship with our own flesh.

Both books discuss the origins of the Bible:

DC 2003: The Bible did not arrive by fax from heaven…The Bible is a product of man…not of God. The Bible did not fall magically from the clouds. Man created it as a historical record of tumultuous times, and it has evolved through countless translations, additions, and revisions. History has never had a definitive version of the book.

RP 1999: The Roman Jewish War from 66-70 C.E. is the violent trauma that inflamed the person(s) who wrote the first story of Jesus…for more than a century prior to 202 C.E., gospel manuscripts underwent alterations, additions and deletions…The Roman Jewish War also compelled the leaders of Judaism to compile a list of Hebrew books to include in the Old Testament. The "Bible" did not exist prior to this time. The priests of Judea decided what texts would make up their book. You don't have any proper record of what went on. What you have are dozens and dozens of stories, especially of the rabbis that seemed to dominate the proceedings...So it's through these legendary debates that the Bible has come down to us today, through men.

And both books describe how the New Testament Gospels were selected:

DC 2003: More than eighty gospels were considered for the New Testament, and yet only a relative few were chosen for inclusion: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John among them…The Bible, as we know it today, was collated by the pagan Roman emperor Constantine the Great.

RP 1999: …the Vatican interpreted the four gospels that its members selected, out of many, to become the New Testament. But there were dozens of other gospels that were banned by the Church…The four gospels do not represent all the early gospels available or even a random sample within them but are instead a calculated collection known as the canonical gospels…The existence of such other gospels means that the canonical foursome is a spectrum of approved interpretation…a deliberate arrangement in which some gospels were accepted and included while others were rejected and excluded...Constantine, like Irenaeus, ordered that the writings about Jesus that favored straight men be tacked onto sections of old Hebrew scriptures. The Bible, now with two TestaMENts, was thus sealed. The official Canon of "books" to be included was closed.
